Chairs

Kami senang sekali berada di rumah.
Senang bersantai, duduk sekeluarga untuk berbincang dan minum teh atau makan (hampir sepanjang waktu haha). Barangkali mengapa kami memiliki cukup banyak kursi dan membuat tempat untuk duduk bersantai. Rumah Eyang Putri Eyang Kakung dan rumah Opa Oma memilki banyak kursi atau tempat untuk duduk minum teh atau berbincang. Ya, saya rasa kegemaran akan ruang duduk minum teh bersantai menurun ke rumah kami juga. :)

We like to stay at home...
If you haven't noticed we do have a lot of chairs.
I'm guessing the love of lounging and leisuring is not here by accident. If I may recall, both sides of our grandparents houses are also have many lounge space to sit, having a cup of tea, drink, chat or to read books.

I already mentioned earlier in the dining room post that we do love to eat, almost all the time and talk about almost anything. Hence the many chairs and areas dedicate for lounging...

Most of our chairs are very old and made of wood, teak wood to be precise. We have tried modern sofas or other chairs made from different kind of wood or chairs made from metal, but they felt less comfortable for us.
We also have a few new chairs but most of the time new chairs are soft furnished with lovely fabrics or pillows handmade by Mama to fit in our house.

Teak wood chairs and tables are our favourite. They are strong, have beautiful dark colour and feels very nice to touch! Especially the very old ones!
But they do need extra care, so I polished them carefully with wood oil every two to four days.

I think that is the key.
What ever chairs you have in your home,
Take good care of them.
You may also add some love with handmade furnishing or throw a pillow or two of your favourite colours.

Apapun kursi yang ada di rumahmu, rawatlah dengan baik. Tambahkan sentuhan hangat dengan lapisan kain, hiasan hasil jahitan tangan atau bantal berwarna indah.

Sayangi apa yang telah kalian miliki dengan penuh perhatian.

Teapots + Roses

Punya teko teh yg tutupnya rusak? Patah? hilang?
Jangan dibuang! Sayang...

We have a thing with teapots... the teapot caps are either ended up broken or lost :(

And what do we do with capless teapots? Fill 'em with flowers.
Roses, daisies, tuberoses, artificial flowers, any flowers you like :D

On our living room, a corner with our Grandparents picture and bottles of drink, Mama put all of our capless teapots&roses + a chandelier.
Fluffy florals seats and pillows... soft carpet...
Semakin nyaman dan hangat :)

Simpan teko teh rusak milikmu, isilah dengan bunga, semoga ruang pribadimu semakin indah dan nyaman :)

Old and broken doesn't mean they have to go, with a touch of love and care they can stay.

Country style family and dining room

Ruang keluarga dan ruang makan! Ya! Hampir sebagian besar waktu kami bersama dihabiskan disini, karena kami suka makan haha dan tentu saja berbincang bersama.

Most of our time together are spend here. We love to eat, and just talk discussing every matters possible from important things to not important at all.

The room is decorated with moose antlers Ayah's car ran overed years ago, country kitchen bar and cow prints, our Mama softfurnished them herself! :D
*Most of our soft furnishings are handmade by our Mama and we are very delighted and happy for that.

This particular room represents our parents first home, when they were married in a small town in Idaho, USA. It is the right thing to do because nothing sounds better than add a cowboy country feel room to embellished their memories of newlywed life together :)

Tea

Disini tempat kami duduk minum teh, ditata seperti teras Eropa, mengenang masa Ayah&Mama berbulanmadu dahulu dan terinspirasi dari cafe-cafe di Italy dan Perancis...

A place to enjoy a cup of tea. The space it self we created inspired by cafes in Italy and France... because we really enjoy ourselves in cafes while we visit Italy and France.

A home is not a home without family memories collected in pretty little things:

The vintage Black ceramic tea set my Mother bought from Golden Truly Supermarket on 1987.

The vintage genuine silver (yes made from silver) is quite a story: My greatgrandfather, Baron Johann Ludwig von Fischer gave it to my Godmather Aunt/Tante Stella Maria Angela Nasiboe as an early wedding gift although turns out she married years later... now it gracefully become a precious family treasure in our home.
